Dear Holly,
I hope your junior year is going well for you. I heard you were going to try and do better this year. After all, junior year is the most important year of high school. Not to mention the SAT’s are right around the corner. I know you have been working hard and trying your best to make better grades, but there are a few things you could work on. This year you are getting used to handling a lot of responsibility and multitasking. You should think about achieving a few goals for your senior year. I propose that you should, work harder, get involved, and make a plan for the near future.

This school year you have tried your best to handle the work load of classes and listen in class for instructions. It is time that you change a few ways you may be preparing for your classes. Getting a good night sleep can help your brain to be more alert during instructional time. Eat a well balanced breakfast before leaving for school. Wheat and fruits are good for an energy boost, and you won’t be distracted by hunger later. The night before you have a test, it is important to read over the material before going to sleep. Taking the time to study and analyze key terms can also be beneficial because key terms are included in a test. Always take notes, notes are essential in recalling what was taught in class. When you have a test you can look back and study the notes to refresh your memory. By applying these simple additions to your daily routine, staying focused will be effortless.

Last year, you were involved in SCA. This year you are an SCA member, but have not included yourself in any of the events or activities. Follow through with your intentions to get involved. Don’t sign up to be a part of an organization unless you will commit to it. You have missed several opportunities to engage in your favorite sport, Volleyball. In the upcoming months there will be conditioning and tryouts during the summer. I encourage you to keep up with these upcoming events an dates so that you will not miss tryouts. In retrospect trying out for the team at school would have been better to do starting out your sophomore year, because you could have made a name for yourself. No problem, at least that gave you time to improve your skills. I also persuade you to join senior class next year as well. Keeping up with the events and getting involved will insure you don’t miss a moment in your last year of high school.

I can see that high school hasn’t changed you much, that is a good thing. Always stay true to yourself and stick with the friends you know and love. In your high school years you have met so many new people and made a lot of new friends. I inspire you to keep making friends and always be kind. You can never have too many people for company. Learning to accept people for who they are can open your eyes to different kinds of people. You have a good amount of friends as it is but it’s always good to be a friend to someone else in their time of need, and in high school there are many times of need. Just be there to lend a helping hand of kindness to anyone that needs it.

I hope I helped to give you better perspective and positive outlook on your senior year in high school. With these simple changes I can promise you will have a stress free, fun, and happy year in school. Don’t forget these years; they are full of memories and good lessons. Have fun and don’t miss a thing.

Sincerely, Holly
